Kampong Thom Province : Santuk Mountain

Santuk Mountain, Kampong Thom Province, is located in Kakoh Village, Kakoh Commune, Santuk District, Kampong Thom Province, 17 km from Kampong Thom Provincial Capital on National Road No. 6. On the top of Santuk Mountain, there is an ancient temple in the shape of a pyramid made of sandstone, an ancient stupa built in the 15th century, an octagonal temple built in the 19th-20th centuries, a Buddha image carved into the rock, a Buddha statue that entered Parinirvana, and many Buddha statues built during the reign of King Ponhea Dhammaraja in 1474-1494, a place to drop lucky coins called “Chan Ta Re or Chan Chawe” and a royal statue of King Norodom Sihanouk.


Tourists can climb the mountain to admire the view of the forest in the early morning and watch the sunrise in the early morning, as well as see ancient relics that have been left for hundreds of years, and can eat at a restaurant near the foot of the mountain.
