Cambodia Ministry of Tourism and CATA attend World Tourism Day 2025 opening in Malacca.
World Tourism Day 2025 was celebrated with a spectacular opening ceremony in Malacca City, Malaysia, on September 27, 2025. H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, led a high-level delegation from the Ministry and private sector to attend the event. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Dato' Seri Haji Faadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, as the esteemed representative of H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. The event was organized collaboratively by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, UN Tourism, and the Malacca State Government under the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”
The theme emphasized good governance, strategic planning, and sustainable development in tourism. The ceremony featured distinguished participants including H.E. YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, H.E. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UN Tourism, H.E. YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Bin Yusoh, Chief Minister of Melaka, Ministers of Tourism from UN Tourism Member States, ambassadors, private sector representatives, international speakers, and delegates from ASEAN countries. A total of around 1,000 guests from 50 countries attended.
