Tourism Forum on “Siem Reap 2026 and Beyond” .
Cambodia Tourism Association organized the “Siem Reap 2026 and Beyond” Forum under the theme “Reimagining the Tourism Gateway” to bring together tourism stakeholders to discuss a shared vision for the development of Siem Reap’s tourism sector beyond the Angkor area. The forum focused on connectivity, tourism product diversification, digital innovation, and sustainable tourism development in line with national policies and the government’s development priorities.
In her remarks, Oknha Chhay Sivlin , President of Cambodia Tourism Association, highlighted that over the past years, the association and tourism operators have worked tirelessly to strengthen the resilience of Siem Reap’s tourism sector. Siem Reap continues to remain one of Cambodia’s most attractive tourism destinations for both domestic and international visitors. She also emphasized that Siem Reap is a key tourism hub with diverse resources, including culture, heritage, eco-tourism, and traditional Khmer identity, which are important attractions for visitors beyond the Angkor temples.
During the forum, Mr. Thim Sereyvuth, Director of Siem Reap Provincial Department of Tourism, noted that Siem Reap is not only home to world-renowned cultural heritage but also serves as a significant gateway connecting Cambodia’s culture, economy, and tourism with the region and the world. He further stated that in the context of increasing global tourism competition, building a new image and developing innovative tourism products are essential for ensuring sustainable tourism development. The forum created a valuable platform for government institutions, private sector representatives, associations, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, share experiences, and discuss innovative solutions to further strengthen the development and competitiveness of Siem Reap’s tourism sector at both regional and international levels.
